Like the ants which climb up the ghee pot and spread every where, the diseases spread all over my body. They make my body a slave and torture it beyond my endurance. They never seem to depart to another location. i warn you Oh! Diseases! you go away some where else. There is paramAtma in my heart who has left His paramapada along with His bed (AdisESa ) and has come now here to stay permanently here. When He is here, you cannot stay any longer. If you want to survive better seek some other body. My Atma is not the same as it was. It is now occupied by paramAtma. He has come to protect me.

This is a treasure-house of jewels. Any evil minded rogues there, beware! The wonder Lord who came as a beautiful manikin has fondly come to stay in me permanently. So run, do not tarry. No more like old, the fortress is on guard!

O Ye great miserable sicknesses! Listen, Let me tell you something. Know that this, my body, is a temple where the cowherd-Lord resides. O Deep-rooted miseries, let me repeat; you have not place here, know it. So more on. No more like old, the fortress is on guard!

Oh! you diseases! you have been staying with me for a long time and tormenting me. Now kriSNa has come to stay in my body, and it has now become a temple. you can see yourself how it has changed. kaNNan used to graze the cattle and bring the straying cattle back to its destination. Likewise my senses stray here and there in the worldly matters. He is taking care of them and brings them back to concentrate on Him. Oh! you my terrible sins! you have been playing lot of havoc by submerging me in the ocean of samsAra. Now you run away from here and get lost! i promise you have no place here any more.

I slipped between two mountain-like bosoms and fell into an abyss, then floundered helplessly in a dark cave. The ocean-hued Lord my master came and saved me, ridding me of my karmas. No more like old, the fortress is on guard!

Purging me of my past karmas, the Lord of yellow vestments came as my Guru and entered into my being. Residing in my lotus-heart, he stamped his footprint on my forehead too. No more like old, the fortress is on guard!

Ye radiant discuss and conch, Vigil! Ye deadly dagger Nandaka, Vigil! Ye beautiful Sarnga bow, Vigil! Ye eternal sentinels of the eight Quarters, Ye king of birds, be vigilant and stand guard over my Lord’s bed-chamber!
periyAzhwAr is not like other AzhwArs. He sang pallANDu – a mangaLASAsana to BagavAn Himself. Now he says to all the AyudhAs (weapons) and dikpAlakAs to protect His sleeping-chamber (His body) where He lies. Guard Him against all dangers .

aravindha paavaiyumthaanum* ahampadi vandhu puhundhu*
paravai thiraipalamOdha* paLLi koLhinRa piraanai*
paravuhinRaan vishNu chiththan* pattinam kaavaR poruttE. (2)
The Lord who sleeps in the ocean amid lashing waves, and the lady-of-the Lotus, the resplendent serpent-bed, the beautiful Milk Ocean, all have entered Vishnuchitta’s being, who sang this songs of praise, for guarding the fortress.
(BagavAn nArAyaNa has come into my body (temple) and entered into my heart along with all the retinues of paramapada i.e., tirupArkaDal, AdisESa, Sree lakShmi, All the AyudhAs, All the nityasooris etc., AzhwAr is very pleased about this eulogizes to BagavAn. Since reading of this pASurAs will itself give the required results no separate Pala Sruti is found.)
